This policy explains what information Outsource.gy collects when you use the platform, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, registered clients, providers (professionals, tradespeople and freelancers), job seekers and employers.
By creating an account or using Outsource.gy, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and password. Phone number is optional at registration but required for some features.
If you list services as a professional, tradesperson or freelancer, we additionally collect your bio, skills, certifications, years of experience, business name and registration status, tagline, services offered, portfolio photos, and any social/professional links you choose to add.
If you create a job seeker profile, we collect your field, experience level, skills, qualifications, region, a written pitch, and (if you choose to add one) a video introduction.
If you register as an employer, we collect your company name, industry, size, website, description, contact name, contact email and phone, and region. Employer accounts are reviewed before candidate profiles become visible to you.
If you submit evidence to raise your trust or verification level, we collect what you choose to submit: this may include a document showing a professional credential or business registration, a written description of your experience, or, for an individual employer account, an optional photo of identification. This evidence is only ever visible to our admin team for review, never shown publicly.
If you register a business employer account, depending on which verification method you choose, we may also collect a website or social media link, a business email address for confirmation, or a registration/incorporation document with its expiry date.
When you send a service request, post a job, or message another user through the platform, we collect the content of that request, job post, or message, including any contact details you choose to include in it. When sending a service request, you may optionally tell us whether you are contacting us from within Guyana or from elsewhere, and which country, to help us understand our international reach; this is optional and you can decline to answer.
When you leave a review, we collect your rating, written comment, and any tags you select.
If you use Assisted Hire, our concierge matching service, we collect the details of what you're looking to hire for, your budget, and your contact information, so our team can identify and present a shortlist of eligible providers to you.
If you submit a project enquiry through Outsource.gy Services (Business Solutions), we collect your contact information, business or organization information, a description of what you are trying to accomplish, information about your existing technology and project materials, your preferred timeline, and an approximate investment range you choose to share. This information is supplied voluntarily and is used only to assess and respond to your enquiry; it is not Outsource.gy pricing and is only ever reviewed by our team, never shown publicly.
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics infrastructure automatically logs standard technical information (IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability purposes.
We also record, as part of our own product analytics, when a directory search is performed and when a public provider profile is viewed. This is first-party usage data used to understand how the directory is used; it is not shared with or sold to any third-party advertiser.
We use cookies to keep you signed in between visits. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Provider phone numbers and email addresses are never shown on public profiles or search results. A client can request a service through the platform without seeing a provider’s direct contact details.
Contact information is only exchanged once both parties agree to proceed, either explicitly, or by continuing communication through the platform’s own messaging system, which keeps a record of the conversation.
We encourage keeping all communication on-platform: it is the only way we can help resolve a dispute or verify what was agreed, and it is a protection we cannot offer for conversations that move off Outsource.gy.
For some admin-assisted steps (for example, related to Assisted Hire), our team may reach out to you via a WhatsApp message you can choose to send from a link we provide. We do not send sensitive information, such as banking details, through WhatsApp; sensitive details are only ever shared through a secure page on the Platform itself.
To operate the directory: matching clients with providers, job seekers with employers, and displaying public profile information you’ve chosen to share.
To facilitate requests and messages between users, and to notify you by email when you receive one.
To review and verify new provider and employer accounts before they go live or gain access to candidate profiles. As part of this review, our admin team may look at publicly available information about you or your business (such as a general web search, or a relevant Guyanese professional registry, where one exists) to help confirm what you've told us. We do not use any automated or third-party background-check service to do this.
To calculate and display aggregate information such as average ratings and review counts.
To improve the platform, investigate misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
If you use the AI-assisted profile or bio writing tool, the text you submit is processed by a third-party AI service to generate a rewritten version. We do not send your account credentials or contact details as part of that request, only the text you’ve chosen to submit for rewriting.
If you submit a project enquiry through Outsource.gy Services (Business Solutions), we use that information to assess your project requirements, communicate with you about it, and, where appropriate, prepare a proposal or quotation and manage the resulting engagement if you choose to proceed.
We do not sell your personal information.
Public profile information (name or trade, category, region, bio, skills, portfolio, rating) is visible to anyone browsing the directory, by design. That is the purpose of a public listing.
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run parts of the platform on our behalf, for example, hosting and storing platform data securely, sending transactional emails such as new-request notifications, and the optional AI writing tool described above. These providers only process data under our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Outsource.gy, our users, or the public.
Another user can submit a report about your account, for example over a concern such as fraud, harassment, or misrepresentation. A report may include a written description and, optionally, supporting evidence such as a screenshot or document.
We do not tell the person who filed a report how to contact you directly, and we do not show you who filed a report against you. Report content is only visible to our admin team, for the purpose of reviewing it.
If a report leads us to restrict or remove an account, that outcome, and the underlying report, may be referenced if that decision is ever reviewed or disputed.
Outsource.gy does not process payments between clients and providers for the underlying service arranged through the platform. That payment happens directly between the client and the provider, outside the platform, and is not something we collect, store, or handle.
This does not apply to payment for Outsource.gy's own paid features, such as Amplify or Assisted Hire. For those, we collect a payment reference and, where you choose to provide one, a screenshot or record of the transfer, so our team can manually confirm the payment was received. We do not collect or store your card, bank login, or mobile money PIN.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and dispute-resolution purposes.
Verification evidence you submit (such as a credential document or an identification photo) is not automatically deleted when your account becomes inactive. We keep it for as long as the related verified status is active, plus a further period afterward, in case a question or dispute about that verification comes up later.
If an account is removed for cause following a substantiated report, we retain the email address and/or phone number associated with it indefinitely, for the sole purpose of identifying an attempt to re-register using the same details. We do not retain the rest of that account's profile content for this purpose.
You can request that your account and associated personal data be deleted by contacting us at the email below. We’ll confirm what will be removed and what (if anything) we’re required to retain, such as records of a completed transaction or the limited information described above.
You can review and update most of your profile information directly from your dashboard at any time.
You can control whether your provider profile is marked as available for new work.
You can deactivate your own account directly from your dashboard at any time, which signs you out and hides any listing you have. This is reversible: logging back in lets you reactivate. We'll ask for a reason when you deactivate, as part of our own feedback process.
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below.
Outsource.gy is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction if higher. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date below and, where appropriate, notify registered users.
Questions about this policy, or requests regarding your personal data, can be sent to outsourcegy@gmail.com.
